וַיְמָאֵ֣ן לָס֗וּר וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ אַבְנֵר֩ בְּאַחֲרֵ֨י הַחֲנִ֜ית אֶל־הַחֹ֗מֶשׁ וַתֵּצֵ֤א הַֽחֲנִית֙ מֵאַחֲרָ֔יו וַיִּפָּל־שָׁ֖ם וַיָּ֣מָת תחתו [תַּחְתָּ֑יו] וַיְהִ֡י כָּל־הַבָּ֣א אֶֽל־הַמָּקוֹם֩ אֲשֶׁר־נָ֨פַל שָׁ֧ם עֲשָׂהאֵ֛ל וַיָּמֹ֖ת וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽדוּ׃
Comme il refusait de s'éloigner, Abner le frappa du revers de sa lance, qui l'atteignit dans l'aine et ressortit par derrière; il tomba et mourut sur place. Et tous ceux qui arrivaient à l'endroit où Assahel était tombé mort s'y arrêtaient.
